They already made the decisions. You just don’t know it yet. There’s nothing we can do at this point

Dan Harmon is a hero because he opens our minds to taking a step back, analyzing ourselves and asking “what do you know?” His self honesty isn’t a curse. It’s a blessing and it’s what makes him relatable. It’s what used to make Community relatable.

So why no more Community?

More than a few people have asked me where all the Community blogging has gone.

The reason I stopped and only started blogging about Dan and Harmontown and Erin, etc is because of course I was pretty crushed that Dan was no longer a part of Community .

So here’s my compromise: I’m going to keep blogging about Community AND Dan…but only blogging things from the Dan Harmon era of Community…nothing from season 4.

That is all

A brief word on Communicon

Amazing? Crazy? Wow.

I didn’t get up and do a testimonial, but believe me a few of you got me pretty misty eyed sharing yours. The past 2 days have been an emotional roller coaster of awkward hellos that make me hate myself and fun experiences meeting other incredible fans.

I was falling out of love with Community. Obviously it’s the best show that’s ever existed, but since I am and always will be loyal to Dan first and foremost, I was starting to get kind of “meh” on the whole concept of season 4 and I hadn’t watched many of my favorite episodes in a while. Then being at the convention made me remember how much I love this show and all the warm feelings I have for it which I will never be able to deny. I’ve never been surrounded by such energetic and loving and passionate people. Of course it hurts terribly that Dan isn’t a part of season 4, but going to this convention reminded me to appreciate the amazing fans and cast and writers.

I’m sorry if I didn’t get to say hi to some of you. Part of being a Community fan means being a little bit weird in your own right and I’m not one to approach people but to those that did come up to me and that I did get to talk to…you are all excellent people. This has been a great and memorable weekend and I’d love to do it again.

Anybody at Communicon?

I was there all day today wearing a Harmontown shirt. I’ll be there tomorrow too. GET AT ME and say hi

I know in my heart of hearts, I would bet my life on it, that if you think the show would be disappointing if, in year five, they all simultaneously left Greendale, blew it up with dynamite and started working at a pet shop across the street… If you think that’s disappointing, you have no idea how disappointing it would be if, at the end of year four, Jeff looked at his degree and went, “Wait a minute! You spelled ‘degree’ wrong! Another four years!” You may think that’s gonna make the show last eight years, but it ain’t.  But when you’re in your first season, your goal is to get a second season, and when you’re in your second season, you just don’t believe you’ll get a third. Nobody up top believes that statistics are on your side. This is where it usually ends. If we have to promise free ice cream to get to a third season, then we will and then we’ll deal with it.
